Arsenal Barcelona CL 2016

Arsenal against Barcelona is one of the standout ties of this season's Champions League last 16. While Barcelona have enjoyed great success in Europe in recent seasons, Arsenal are arguably the biggest club never to have been crowned European champions.
With both clubs being among the biggest in the world, Arsenal vs Barcelona tickets will certainly be much in demand. The Gunners will also be hoping that they can overcome the 2015 Champions League winners after some unhappy memories against Barca in the last decade. In 2006, Arsenal were defeated by Barca in the Champions League final in Paris, and they've been defeated by Barcelona twice in the knockout stages in the last ten years.

Under manager Arsene Wenger Arsenal have become one of the most attractive football teams to watch, and Barcelona have probably the best trio of attacking players in Champions League history in Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez. Consequently, it's hard to see how anyone with Arsenal vs Barcelona tickets won't see two entertaining encounters. Barcelona will be favourites to win the tie, but Arsenal can't be ruled out due to their impressive form this season so far.
Despite not winning the Premier League since the 2003-04 season, Arsenal have been close to being champions again, and continue to regularly compete in the Champions League. The Gunners have also won the FA Cup in the last two seasons. In all, they have won that competition a record 12 times in their history, and only Manchester United and Liverpool have won more League titles than Arsenal's 13. In addition, the Gunners have won the League Cup twice, and have won two major European trophies - the then Fairs Cup in 1970, and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1993-94. Ted Drake, Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry are among some of the best players to have ever played for the club.

Though it wasn't until 1992 that Barca won their first European Cup, Barcelona have been very successful in Europe's biggest club competition since then. In the last decade they've won the Champions League four times (2006, 2009, 2011 and 2015), and were runners-up in 1994. Barcelona have also won the European Cup Winners' Cup four times and the Fairs Cup three times - both records. While in 2009 they won the FIFA Club World Cup for the first time. Along with Real Madrid, Barca have dominated club football in Spain, and have won La Liga 23 times, and the Spanish Cup a record 27 times. Johan Cruyff, Diego Maradona and Ronaldinho are just three of the greats to have played for Barca over the years.
