Event Description

Manchester United

manchester united vs psv einhoven ticketsHere we have a team that will need little introduction to most of the fans reading this page - simply put, Manchester United (or Man United, as it is fondly known by its supporters) is one of the most highly regarded football teams not just in Britain, but in the world. Originally formed in 1878, Manchester United has been home to a wide range of legendary players from Bryan Robson to David Beckham. Its team strip has changed considerably over the years, starting out as green and yellow and dabbling with white and blue before settling into the familiar red and white scheme; this choice of colour, coupled with the team's distinctive logo, has earned the Manchester United players the nickname of 'Red Devils'. The team earned its first trophy when it won the Manchester Cup in 1886; more than a century has passed since then, and Manchester United has picked up such renowned trophies as the FA Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

PSV Eindhoven

Officially known as Philips Sport Vereniging, PSV Eindhoven is a Dutch team with a somewhat unusual history: it originated in 1913 as a sports club for employees of the electronics company Philips. Because of this, its original team crest featured a lightbulb - a very unusual symbol for a football team and no mistake! After a steady rise, PSV Eindhoven finally made its name in 1978 when it won the UEFA Cup. Notable managers to have run the team over the years include Kees Meijnders, Jan Vos, John Leavy, Jack Hall, Ljubisa Brocic and Phillip Cocu, while its captains have included the likes of Ruud Gullit, Timmy Simons, Mark van Bommel and Luuk de Jong. The team has also bagged an impressive number of awards including the UEFA Champions League Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup and more. All in all, PSV Eindhoven stands as a solid showcase of talent in Dutch football - small wonder that it has more than its fair share of fans in the Netherlands and abroad.
