With Liverpool playing so well this season and Hull City fighting for Premiership survival, this encounter between the two squads should be interesting.
Hull City was founded in 1904. The club returned to the premiership this year after a successful season in the Championship. The team colours are amber and black, and they play at The KCOM Stadium.
The team's greatest achievement in the FA Cup came in 2014 when they reached the final but lost to Arsenal. Their highest league position was in 2013/14 when they finished 16th in the Premier League.
Before moving to the new stadium in 2002, Hull had played all of the previous seasons at Boothferry Park. This stadium, now demolished, was famous as the only one in the football league with a railway station.
The club is nicknamed the Tigers because of the shirts, which are black and amber. There are two club mascots, Roary the Tiger and Amber his sister.
Hull City's first season in the Premier League was in 2008/9. Even though the team were favourites to be relegated, they suffered only one defeat in their first nine games. These nine games included wins over Spurs and Arsenal. There was one stage of the season when Hull were joint leaders. Ironically, ten years previously Hull City had been bottom of the Fourth Division. The club was eventually relegated to the Championship on 3, May 2010 after drawing the final game of the campaign, with Wigan Athletic.
Steve Bruce was appointed manager in 2012 and guided Hull back to the Premiership. The club was relegated again in 2014.

Highest transfer fee paid is GBP12.5 million for Shane Long
LFCl is the team that has been playing the most attractive football this season in the Premiership. They have won many games by a wide margin using a combination of speed, aggression and vibrancy. Manager Jurgen Klopp has brought a style of play that he perfected at Borussia Dortmund, which has revitalised the squad beyond recognition. The team is one of the title contenders although Chelsea and Manchester City have also got very strong squads.
Players like Saido Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino, have all impressed this season and their partnership is getting stronger with every game. Apart from the superb attacking style, Liverpool have had a problem at the back. Conceding goals is not a disaster when your forward line is free-scoring, but this is a problem that Klopp needs to address. Liverpool have only had one clean sheet so far this season.
Despite the defensive problems, 2016 has been a good year if you are a Liverpool fan. The spirit that their German manager has injected into the team has also touched the hearts and minds of the passionate supporters. Whether Klopp will be able to bring back the success of the Shankly and Paisley era is not certain, but there is a new sense of optimism around Anfield that has been missing for many years. The energy of Klopp has infected his players, and because of this, they never seem to stop running. The harsh British winter will start to play a significant part in results when the pitches get heavy, but the aggression and work rate must continue to ensure success at the end of the season
Liverpool have so far matched and outplayed their close rivals and supporters are optimistic for the future.
