Liverpool are flying high this season with just 2 losses in the premier league, they've kept their position near the top of the table. As well as the Premier League, the club had also qualified in the FA Cup and the EFL Cup but are benefiting from no European competitions this season, helping the player stay fit and rested and ultimately allowing for more concentration on the premier league title. Liverpool have seemed to struggle this season with the teams lower in the league with their only two premier league defeats coming from Bournemouth and Burnley away from Anfield. A number of players have injuries at the moment which is stretching the squad thinly, but has meant match minutes for some of the youngsters. With issues in defence and questionable choices from Loris Karius, is Klopp's and Liverpool's dreams of being premier league title winners in jeopardy. When Klopp joined the club, Liverpool were eight games into the 2015/16 season. They had won just three, drawn three and lost two, fast forward to this season and after eight games they had won five, drawn two and lost just one.
West Brom seem to be having a decent season so far. Currently in 7th position with a record of 6 wins, 5 draws and 5 loses. Getting knocked out of the EFL cup in the 2nd round has given West Brom and Tony Pulis the chance to focus on their premier league games and the upcoming FA Cup competition. Pulis has mentioned that he would like to bring in a couple of new players in during the transfer window, but with funds running low, he would have to sell a couple of fringe players or look for free transfers to sign. Tony Pulis has been under some scrutiny lately after accusations that he mislead Crystal Palace just two days after receiving a GBP2 million loyalty bonus. He has been assured his job at West Brom is safe despite losing his high court battle at a cost of GBP3.7 million.
